Attention! Saving or Printing
Your Artistic Creation !
For security reasons, by default Java will not allow you save or print a Java file (so
that a Java applet cannot erase your hard drive, for example). So, to preserve or to
print your handiwork, follow the proceeding directions to take a Screen Shot of it:
Windows
1) Take a screen shot. Click once on the title bar of your browser to make certain that it is active,
center your
browser's window with your Image, then simultaneously press the Alt plus the PrintScreen keys. (The PrintScreen
key is located on the upper-right of your keyboard, often labeled PrtScn or PrintScreenSysRq or something similar.)
2) Paste it into any Image editing application. Launch the Windows Paint program, for example
-- this is locat-
ed under the Start menu, under Programs >> Accessories
>> Paint. Click the Maximize button on the upper-
right corner of the window, and choose the Paste menu item. You may utilize any imaging editing application, includ-
ing Jasc Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop.
3) Crop it. If you wish, you can use the program's Image tools to erase or delete the parts
of the Image that you
do not wish to preserve.
4) Save or Print. Now you can save or print your lovely Artistic Creation! :)
Mac
One) Take a screen shot. Center your browser's window with your Image, then simultaneously press Command
(Apple) plus Shift plus 3. You should hear the sound of a camera snapping a picture. This will
deposit a file contain-
ing the screen shot on your hard drive.
Two) Or, Take a cropped screen shot. (This only works on System 7.6 or later.) Simultaneously
press Com-
mand(Apple) plus Shift plus 4. The mouse cursor will turn into cross-hairs. This allows you to
select which portion
of the screen to grab. Click and drag the outline of your picture - i.e. click on the upper-left corner of the
Image, hold
down the mouse button, and drag the mouse over to the lower-right corner of the Image. Then release the mouse
button. You should hear the sound of a camera snapping a picture. This will deposit a file containing the screen
shot
on your hard drive.
Three) Open it with SimpleText. Double-click on your hard drive icon (for example, Macintosh
HD), and you
should see a file named "Picture 1". Double-click on this file to open it in SimpleText. You can now
print the pic-
ture, but you cannot edit it in SimpleText.
Four) Or, open it with any Image editing program. Use any Image editing application like PSP
or Photoshop
to open the "Picture 1" file, to crop the Image, and then to save or print your lovely Artistic Creation! :)
