We Have Each Other

by

As the shores
         have the roaring sea,
And the misty clouds
         have the sky,
You have me

As the morning
         has the shimmering dew,
And the darkened night
          has the stars,
I have you

As the sweet honey
          has the buzzing bee,
And the budding flower
          has the sparkling rain,
You have me

As the rainbows
          have a brilliant hue,
And the roving meadows
          have their clover,
I have you

I MISS YOU DAD

Who would have imagined you'd die that Tuesday afternoon,
We just thought the doctors could help you and we'd bring
you home real soon.
Only two months has passed and it's still so hard to believe,
That within 2 days you had passed on and left us here
to grieve.

I guess I never realized how much I miss you so,
Until this very day when it hit me with such a hard blow.
But just know I'll always love you and will continue to pray,
I wish you could still be here with us each and every day.

I know you are in a pain-free and better place,
But I want so much to see your smiling face.
How I wish so much you were still here,
Sometimes all I can do is feel sad and shed a tear.

I miss you so very much my dear dad,
For you are at peace and I should be glad.

And we know that "butterflies" are the symbol that
represent you,
For your three daughters have seen them now and
then and we know it's you.
We just know that you speak to us thru the butterfly,
Trying to tell us all to continue and not to cry.

You tell us thru the butterflies that you are okay
and at peace,
So we will be alright here on earth and we should
take watch and just release,
Until one special day we will all reach that
everlasting moment of peace.

I miss you dear dad!

Pool of Sadness

by Isis

© September 24, 2003

I wade into the sadness
Like a warm pool

Comforting
              familiar
It waits to envelope me

Happiness is a stranger, now
An unfamiliar and ill-fitting feeling
That must belong to another
For I seem to rattle around within it.

Laughter batters my tired senses
Echoes in the empty spaces inside me,
           while soft
                          warm
                                  tears
                                          seem cozy somehow.
And keep me better company.

Fill my emptiness with caring.
                          soft sighs,
                                          warm glances.
So I can welcome laughter again.

I am hoping to share these feelings to see if anyone identifies.
I could not be unique in experiencing the pain of losing what seemed so right.
