Do
you know how it feels
when
that door is shutting,
do
you know how that window looks
when
there are no lights on,
do
you know about the noise the memories make
when
that song has just finished,
do
you know how cold a bed is
when
you have to sleep alone?
And
do you know how tears hurt
when
you don´t even know you´re crying,
do
you know how close the moon is
when
you´re not here,
but
do you realize I can´t reach it without you?
Do
you know how a lost heart feels
when
there´s nothing to fill it,
do
you know how my hands hurt
when
they can´t touch you,
do
you know how that phone screams
after
you´ve hung up?
Do
you know how good music sounds
as
long as you can share it with someone
who
understands,
what
you feel,
when
you look like this?
Do
you know how an empty glass looks
and
do you know the taste of the last cigarette?
Do
you know that I hate the backlights of your car?
Can
you imagine the emptiness in my heart
when
you´re not with me,
and
can you feel the loneliness inside of me
when
you´re kissing someone else?

ONE SECOND

Orchestras rising their tunes,
violins playing louder than ever,
at night there are two moons,
shining brightly and oh so clever,
explosions, detonations, implosions,
compositions, destinations, conclusions,
and all that in one second,
never before I reckoned,
such a thunderstorm, while sunny days.
A stadium stands up and sings,
a hymn on things,
they want and need,
it lifts their feet,
up to where I am,
what I am,
honoured, delighted and blessed,
when you look at me happy though stressed,
in the car in the morning,
when you´re already late for work.

FIVE CIGARETTES LATER

It´s a nice day and I´m waiting,
sitting here I am debating,
should I wait a little longer,
should I go, the feelings stronger.
And it keeps me here some more,
on this lovely distant shore,
I am sitting with myself,
like a book sits on a shelf.
And I feel I´ve been forgotten,
think that this is very rotten,
finally, five cigarettes later,
I get up thank my creator,
that I have some sense to go,
even though my heart says no.
I get in my car and then,
swear, I´ll never come again!
