Daddy

There's a shadow in her eyes
A storm brewing in her teacup
Daddy, why does it hurt?
Hush little one, close your eyes

She's the yellow of the moon
The deep blue of the sea
Daddy, will it be over soon?
Hush little one, the night is young

Hands of a carpenter
Heart cut from stone
Daddy, tell me why?
Hush little one, you're all alone

Moving in and out of hiding
Wishing she was somewhere else instead
Daddy, are you sorry!?
Hush little one, don't say a word

Her mind a rear-view mirror
Her heart stepping on the gas
Daddy, let me go!
Hush little one, I play for keeps

Shackles of shame
Harpoon of hate
Daddy, you were wrong
Hush little one, sleep tight

Bent to a different shape
Craving the ultimate curse
Daddy, you stole my soul
Hush little one, it is done

Traveling through a state of mind
The sky becomes clear
Daddy, I'm different
Hush little one, I don't want to hear

The bridges are burning
All can see her flame
Daddy, good-bye
Hush little one … little one?

First Love

Love shows, devours for hours after the escaping,
Lingering and floating there,
unfolding in its draping..

Oh, the love we have!

There is joy, the pureness and wonder.
The folding knitting of a union and tapestry down under.

The breath you take,
The love we make,
The excellence within our being
is there to share, Yes, every where,
Where eyes are not clearly seeing.

Breath to me.. Let me be and melt me in your arms again.
Hold me there my love, I am not alarmed.

The fire of the wind, coming to hearts of love, united. Oh the love in us !!
The love in us has started and ignited!

Although, My eyes have not seen
Nor the tips of my fingers has ever been placed on your lips.

My heart reaches longing for your strongholds, it grips.
Let me escape again into your flowing, my love
til I am standing by you, closely beside.
My sweet Love, in your comforts and strength, I assuredly hide.

PARADISE LOST
...with obvious apologies to John Milton

by ArTeMiS

© May 7, 2001

"The mind is its own place, and in itself can make heaven of hell,
a hell of heaven"

Was it less irrational than strange?
More vehement, less profound?
Ah!
The ache of memory
Its haunting dying mementos
Keeping raw our pain on the edge of repetition
Twisting and squirming
Its modifications - without meter...

Was it more complete, less obvious?
More me less you?
More you less me?
An (un)important (in)significant event?
Or!
Has the balm of time just
Returned the manner to the matter
Disciplined its observations
Leaned in gently
And granted a final pardon?

.... (Since you, I've not been able to figure out how to
return memories back into the unknown) ...

CONCERTO

by ArTeMiS

479,001,600 permutations
Whose tender flowing silences are music - inside out
Whose symphonies celebrate and melt
Whose thousand powers blend and fuse
Whose eloquent short notes
Harmonise the depth of her expression
The beauty of her patterns
And whisper
Tremor with me, my love
As we leave this light

479,001,600 melodious possibilities
Whose distinctions are not divisions
Whose vibrations are wild and deeply emotional
Whose rhythm is slow, perfect cadence
Whose mystical light glows
From her first sensuous movement - still.

When she reached out to me
I took note
And whispered
"Play"
