WOODY 27 yr old Cockatoo
Woody was found in a tree...and was coaxed down by an orange that a
person was holding....he was cared for by this person till I bought him.
He talked very good and constantly...but his voice was so low you could
not understand him....his prior owner must have talked in a low voice....
He soon picked up things I said and in my voice...I would come home at
night and he would say HI MOM!!.....HI Guys. He loved to dance and
say Boogie Woogie.....and most of all he loved to watch football and
when the crowd yelled he yelled YEA!! and his top knot would come
up full...and he would dance...
Due to a condition that happen in the wild....his anal gland would come
out....after 6 anal operations and 2 abdominal operations it was deter-
mined this could not be fixed....and it was a sensual thing....therefore I
could no longer hold him...or give him any attention...he used to lay his
body on my chest just like a dog or cat and I would pet him as such....
he loved to be loved....
In 1998 I had him put to sleep as it was only the best thing to do......
He is sadly missed by me and my Amazon Parrot...they were buddies
.....my Amazon died last year.
