Sadie 3/96 to 7/12/01
On July 12, 2001 My best friend and constant companion slipped peacefully to
sleep in my arms, with help from her veterinarian from cancer. She came into my
life in 1997, 2 days before she was to be put to sleep. She had been at the pound
for 2 months already and was passed over and now her time was up. My Friend
you were such a happy girl, that followed me everywhere I went. You were always
at the door when I came home with such a welcome, like I had been gone for a
week. My faithful companion the house is so empty now, no more greetings at
the door, no more laying your head on my shoulder in bed or laying down next to
me at the computer. No more slipping your head under my arm or hand for me to
pet you. No more walks that you loved so much. My heart is heavy and empty
right now and the feeling of loss is so overwhelming. I know I did the best thing
for you. You are not suffering or in pain anymore. Even though it has been
almost 2 year's since, that awful day I had to make the hardest decision
of my life. I still feel you with me as I did the day you left this earth.
